The owner, Keith Bateman, started in the computer industry in 1977, before gaining 14 years' business experience in the skiing and tourism sector and then starting CTC Web Design in 1998 in Scotland.

In 2000 Keith moved to Sydney and started the same business there, and now clients are split roughly 50:50 between the UK and Australia.

Thefirst project,a community-managed website, won the 2006 Best Community Website Award nearly a decade after it was created. This demonstrates how a well-planned website project can be successful for many years with minimal changes.
